SPC4 Robert Joseph "Bob" Gold lost his life, fighting in the Vietnam War (4th Infantry DIV). He is the son of Francis Joseph "Joe" Gold & Rosemary Maurer-Gold (Rosewood / Sidney, Ohio). Bob is the brother of William L., Diana L., Edward F., and Patricia S. Gold. He was married, for 6 months, to Carleen Fridley-Gold-Pettit. Bob graduated from Sidney High School (Ohio) in 1965. He was drafted in December 1965, and went to Vietnam in September 1966. Bob was a talented musician, playing bass guitar in some well-known bands(1962-1965). He played for The Yellow Jackets, Stan White and The Misty Echoes, & The Little Green Men. His song, "I'm The Talk of the Town" made the top-10 in Nashville, TN. He also recorded "Pretty Little Earth Girl," "School Will Soon Be Out," & "Cheater B-Modified Car." SGT Gold was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star with "V" for Valor on 02/26/2013, for his heroic actions in Operation Junction City.
