Delbert “Del” L. Ransom passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the age of 66 years.  Del was born on June 22, 1946 in Selma, CA to Howard and Maybel (nee Linhares) Ransom.  Del made many friends during his time in the Vietnam War.  He will be missed by his comrades and friends from 4th Bn. 9th Inf. In the United States Army many of which he still kept in regular contact.  Del was especially proud of his three beautiful granddaughters, Hannah and Carly Ransom, and Breanna Dickerson and his only grandson, Zachary Dickerson, who is currently serving his country as part of the United States Navy.

Del is survived by his wife Caroline; children Anthony (Cheryl) Ransom and Lisa (Raleigh) Dickerson.  He is further survived by his siblings Teresa Ferry, Vanaye Ransom, Linda Kujath, Carol (Thomas) Firestine, Michael (Irene) Ransom, Norrine McSpadden, Kathy (Roland) Dean, and Tom (Debbie) Ransom; Godchildren Mark Adney and Michelle Andersen; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.  Del will also be dearly missed by his lifelong friend, Jim Ledford in Gustine, CA.

Del is preceded in death by his parents, one brother at infancy, one brother as a toddler, and brother-in law Ray Ferry.

A Memorial Service for Del will be held at 12:00 PM (noon) on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Dr. in West Bend with military honors to follow the service.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until 11:45 AM on Friday, March 22, 2013. 

The family wishes to express a special Thank You to the staff at Cedar Community Health & Rehabilitation, Tommy Hatch in Semora, NC for all his moral support and everlasting friendship, and his best man and best friend, Jim Ledford.
