KENNETH ROGER REINERT
LAMAR — Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Konantz-Warden Funeral Home for Kenneth Roger Reinert, 65, Lamar, who died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at his home. A memorial prayer service is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Lamar, with ministers Robb Wilson and Mike Gage officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, at Ft. Scott National Cemetery in Ft. Scott, Kan., with full military honors conducted by F CO 299 Brigade Support Battalion, Ft. Riley, Kan.
Pallbearers are members of the Lamar Fire Department.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Fire Department, in care of the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Reinert, of the home; two sons, Kenneth Reinert and wife Starri, Lamar, and Major John T. Reinert and wife Kamme, Ft. Sill, Okla.; a daughter, Lisa Louise Medley, Lamar; three stepsons, Dale Gibson, Utah, Ray Gibson and wife Pam, Lamar, and Brian Beatty and wife Deedra, Carthage; two stepdaughters, Kristi Lehman and husband Robert, Lamar, and Carla Evans and husband Charlie, Liberal; five brothers, Earl, Wyoming, Ted, California, Clark, Nebraska, Allen, Washington, and Glenn, Carolina; 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dwayne.
Mr. Reinert was born March 13, 1945, in Oakland, Neb., to Eldred Earl and Blanche Cleo (Freeman) Reinert. He entered the Army on December 14, 1965 and served until Sept. 23, 1967. He served in the Vietnam War earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert (Rifle M16) and Expert (Rifle M14). He resided in California before moving to Lamar in 1982. He worked for O’Sullivan Industries for 26 years. He was a fireman of over 28 years for the Lamar Fire Department.
He married JoAnn Weber Mauslein on March 29, 2002, in Lincoln, Neb.
